......after what? Oh yes, the day I joined the old people! Besides some personal, "material" Birthday gifts, I was presented with a big, happy crowd today, counting six cheerful noses: Shelby, Tiffany, Christina, Crystal, Emma and Kelly!
Thanks so much for pouring in!
Basically everybody was very fine, but Shelby said she was a little tired as she had planted summer vegetables for two hours in the morning.
Christina surprisingly showed up - she was supposed to travel to Germany, but due to her husband's job commitments the trip was cancelled.....too bad for her, a little nice for us, as we could enjoy her company!

Tiffany told us about a friend's granddaughter who didn't want to (or couldn't?) come back to Japan from Australia for the first anniversary of her mother's death giving reasons that Japan was too dangerous, referring to the earthquake, Fukushima and the aftermath........we found it shocking and sad, as it would have been Himeji - miles away from the affected area.Tiffany also visited Koya-san a couple of weeks ago and was surprised by snow!

Other topics: Older drivers & Gold license holders can go to Sannomiya for license renewal - skipping the troublesome procedures in Akashi. Apparently, it's a lot smoother - like the "fast track" at the airport!
We could also enjoy a cheerful explanation about one of your ladies' experience with a "hookah" - after having a Persian meal she didn't really remember! Below is a picture of her with the Hookah, a suspicious looking kind of water pipe:

Okay, it's getting too long!

See you all next month (or Saturday?)
