"Me & my girl" had a good, very quiet time on this hot and humid Saturday!
One of the youngest members of our Cafe save my day today, and she had a lucky, private "lesson"!
As she was alone, we didn't bother picking a name today.
We talked about various topics, including football, of course, but it turned out that she wasn't interested. Instead, she had a serious query: She got invited by a Korean friend to attend her wedding (in Korea), and she isn't sure what to wear, and what kind of gift she should give her friend. This indeed is a delicate matter, especially if one considers how fussy the Japanese customs are, and how easy it is to insult someone doing it wrong: Money must be given, but the amount should not be dividable by two, the notes must be new, should not be "on their head" etc. One has to be extremely careful with the choice of words (expressions which could be interpreted negatively should be avoided)....etc. As Korea is also a Asian country I suspect they might be similarly difficult....Eventually, I suggested to her just to "be herself", give a useful present,
and if still not sure, consult the internet about Korean wedding customs!

I did, and I found this:

I wish you a good trip, a great time in Korea, and don't forget the おみやげ, thank you!

We studied following native expressions and called it a day:

Thanks for coming, and have a great weekend!

Everybody, enjoy the football game tonight! (Germany LOST yesterday, OMG!)
