Nice little crowd today, more or less our Thursday regulars, especially now since Katie is back from her stay in Australia, where she had visited her daughter. Welcome "home", and thanx for the おみやげ-chocolate, was not too sweet & quite yummy! Joining Katie today saw Jamie, Alexandria and Kelsey. We talked a little about everything, so I have to see what I remember......
Of course, there were some nice Australia memories we could listen to, and my urge to want to visit the place became stronger again. I don't really know why, but for some reason I'm curious about that place "down under". We also talked a little about the country's history (yes, they are ALL criminals!!), and it turned out that nobody including me had much knowledge about neighbouring New Zealand. Alexandria felt that I would probably like Australia.

Kelsey told us about her attending two funeral services in one day, a christian one, and a buddhist one, and how very different the ceremonies were. Contrary to the buddhist priest's mumbling un-understandable religious texts faced with the back to the ceremony guests, the christian priest spoke clearly, a lot, to the people about the deceased, and prayers and hymns were conducted together.

Jamie would have liked to discuss the World Cup a little bit more, but today's members were not "soccer fans", and Alexandria (same with NHK!) agrees that Wimbledon Tennis is more important.......ha?

Finally: Could you imagine living in another country than Japan (for good)?

Our phrase (or rather: Study material) & our cake, together today:

GOOD LUCK TO THE JAPANESE FOOTBALL TEAM TOMORROW (VERY) EARLY MORNING!

Germany made in to the next stage, so I hope you will, too. Remember, they don't even have to win, a tie score will be good enough!

Thanks for showing up on this great weather Thursday,

The "Master"
